Duster

Ok Guys this is what just happened a bit ago. A gun shot rang out just behind my house. There is a road that runs along the backside of the woods not far away. One way in one way out. I got in my truck and drove over on that road within five minutes of hearing the shot. This is a no firearm area as per covenants, the residents of the area are in kind of a agreement bow hunting by property owners is not a problem but discharge of a firearm can be a problem due to the scattered home locations.
As I was driving down that road I met a new looking Bright Red Ford pickup with two guys in it with orange hats on the dash. They took off rather quick before I could turn around and get a plate number. However the truck had rather large stick on letters on the tailgate that said WV blue in color. Don't think there was anyway to kill a deer in the location of the shot and get it field dressed and drug to the vehicle unless they just tossed in in the back undressed. Unless the shot was from the roadway. A call was made to the CO and he will be on the lookout for that vehicle for a check.
If you see this vehicle in your hunting area try and get a licence number and state

Yes near Lake Malone...When I first built here there was NO HUNTING allowed period. It took me 4 years to get the bowhunting only agreement with the other property owners. All it would take to ruin that is one stray bullet hitting one of the half million dollar homes in this area and I would be back to square one with most likely no chance of getting what I worked hard to get out of them.
David this was just across the lake under the TVA power line from where you hunted.

My guess is that they will try and come back for it tonight, if at all.

I Hunted, I guess south of where you are, and the farm I hunted is on McPherson Road. The power lines run west from where I did most of my Hunting. With a large open field surrounded by thick woods. Did you report or hear anymore about that Red Truck? Hope they get them! It bad to have shooting around homes as someone is bound to get hurt soon or later!

Wow, I can't believe poachers abide by the hunter orange requirement these days. At least they're safety minded poachers.;)
I had some TN friends in Butler County on the Green River this weekend get the wool puled over on them by some locals. They couldn't hunt Sat AM, and when they were pulling into their lease a they met a truck and trailer with 3 4-wheelers and 2 big bucks was leaving. They share a drive with another lease that is done by some guys from Alabama. As they my buddies slowed and asked, "you the guys from Alabama?" to which the 3 guys leaving all quickly said "Yeah!". "Those are 2 awesome bucks" my buddies said. The guys didn't reply and pulled off. As they did my buddy looked in his side mirror and the tag was a KY tag. One of the guys followed a fresh 4 wheeler trail to his stand and a fresh gut-pile was waiting in his food-plot. This is the reason I won't lease without a landowner being present. Leasing from an OOS landowner or without some sort of local support to help keep out the poachers is a waste of time and money IMO.
I agree. You can't lease or manage land if you can't be there to watch it or have a tenant doing it for you.
