Last season was my first season deer hunting ever. It was to say the least, a disappointment...made some mistakes, and missed some chances at deer...so I figured I would give it another go this year.
Headed out early today and got in the stand at a friends farm around 6am. I was in a stand in the woods, but had a field and a fencerow visible to my left. Saw one deer early in the morning, but he was WAY up the top ridge of the field...no shot at all, couldn't even tell if it was male or female...sat for a while, and saw a coyote at about 150 yards go through the woods. Thought that might be the last animal I was going to see. After another hour or so I started to get uncomfortable/cold and moved around a little bit, turned back to my left and there he was coming down the hill toward the fencerow... I was shaking like a leaf!!! But I got him...he never saw me.
I have never felt such a rush. I thought I was freezing cold I was shaking so bad once I went over to where he was, but it was adrenaline!!
Left the camera in the jeep, so got pictures when we got him back to the jeep and after hanging him up. 11 pointer
