Hello, I have young coonhounds who need to be hunted in thick coons. Where I live that just doesn't exist. I wonder if any of you might know any places someone could get permission to hunt that is over run with coons. I know a raccoon can be detrimental to a farmer trying to make headway with a harvest. Any Info. is appreciated.

Another PKC member. Awesome. I'm also a PKC member. Fort Knox does have plenty of coons, in some areas. In others you won't get so lucky.

You also have to have a Hunters Education card to hunt.

What about all the WMA's closer and easier to gain access to like - i.e.- Green River WMA, Taylorsville WMA , etc.[?][8D]

Yep, it is Eleventh. Not sure how Binther is spelled. Sorry. Lot's of coons on the post, lot's of guys hunting them. You need dog power. Treed 11 singles there one night, with the last one after daylight the next morning. Not a bad hunt.

79, I figured I might not be the only PKC guy on the board. Prohound.com is a handy outfit too isn't it?

Yea, but they have cut it out lately. I'll admit at sometimes it gets annoying, but it definitely keeps the board alive, especially when the same 'ol topics are getting played out.

Do you know Bob Hardison?
Did you make it to Ft. Knox hunting?

I don't think you were talking to me, But I know Bob. Very vaguely. My grandfather is friends with him. Where are you from Multi?

Vine Grove near Ft. Knox
I hunted with Bob many times, and owned dogs out of his Grand Night Champ. Columbo. Hard driving, hard treeing English Redticks

Multi,
No I did not make the drive up there to hunt. Did tree a coon last night real early before it got real cold. Thinking about going tonight, but work comes early in the morning.

I don't know the man you are talking about, but I have heard his name, and I know of his dogs. You said you live in Vine Grove, would you know Keith Medley? I don't but I'd like to meet him sometime. I had planned on breeding to his Hardwood Swamp dog, but he passed away not long ago. I still might breed to Clint when my female is back in season. I hear Keith is as nice as they come.
Another Question, A number of years ago I got my hunters education card. Since then it has dry rotted and fell to pieces. Will I have to retake the course before I go, or where could I get my card renewed?

Keith is a good guy, don't know if that's nice our not. He always has a dg that will tree a coon, but most of them are Walkers. I always liked something different.
You can get a replacement card if you remember when and where you took the course or the number. Call the Dept. in Frankfort for info.

What's your name Multi? I hunt with keith every once and a while, My grandfather is good friends with him. Do you know Jeff and Dwight Price or Sluggo Payton? Hunt with them every once and a while also. Well, hunt with Jeff a whole lot. The majority of the time actually. You might know my grandfather Steve Franklin also? I am over from around Irvington, in Breck county. But lived in Flaherty for the majority of my life.

I know Steve real good, and Dwight somewhat. My name Tom Conely. When Steve and Keith use to hunt together, they would turn out at my house a lot. Does Steve still hunt redbones?

No, he doesn't hunt redbones. Lol. I think you showed your age there. I'm 17 and he hasn't hunted any redbones since I have been born. He has an english gyp right now. I am hunting a gyp out of swamp and we are starting some walker pups, one for keith, one for a guy in missouri. What do you hunt?

I retired from it. Gave it up a while back. Still have my lights and stuff though. When I hunted, I mostly hunted English dogs, had one good Redbone bitch and a good walker bitch.
I got a couple of places you can hunt if you want. Ever heard of Lapland? Got anothe place also. Let me know if your interested.

Did anyone tree any coons this weekend? I looked at 2 coons last night. Only night i've been out in the last little while. Hunting sure is alot easier up around those horsefarms up around Georgetown and Versailles.

Hey guys, I'm from NC, but check this forum out often. If your ever passing through NC let me know we'll cut em loose. I hunt walkers. I have two walkers, male off of Rock River Frank and a female thats a litter mate to Bob Dudleys stud dog Teflon Don. I've hunted a little ways above Kentucky at James Merchants house in Illinois. Good hunting up there and seen plenty of nice deer. We have only small scrubs down here. Good luck and happy hunting

Hello, I just stumbled on this forum I'm from Canada, and we do hunt coons up here.Well at least some of us.There's not many of who do it, I dont know why? Theres plenty of farmland, and swampland, but no one seems to know what a bluetick is, or what they are for. It's too bad, I wouldnt trade my boy for nothing.
