Pretty quite in my part of the woods, wich is Calloway Co.close to the Tenn.line,I saw a Buck with a doe at 6:30 this morning,it was a young buck, maybe 6 points, hard to tell,it was kind of a wierd looking rack,I had a shot at about 80yds,but he was just to small and to young, and he rewarded me for not shooting him by mounting the doe,Ive only seen this once before,it was like watching the Discovery Channel! Anyway thats all I saw all morning and I heard very few shots, maybe 4 or 5 all morning

All you needed was Marlin Perkins to narrate. Heh.
Near Sugar Creek on the north shore of Blood River it sounded like the battle for Fallujah.
I made it out to my stand around 6:00am. Heard a few earlybirds around 6:15, then the battle began right around 6:30. Sounds like both my neighbors scored. They suck. ;)
Early afternoon I ran into town with the familias to do some shopping. When we got back the two girls and I went out and sat in a blind.
Never saw a thing. Nada. Tried out a grunt call I bought at MSUFinProf's yard sale a while back. Now I know why he sold it... doesn't work. :D

I forgot to tell you...I had already used all the good grunts in that call:D I hunted Calloway Co this afternoon and heard shooting all around me...probably 10-12 fairly close shots. However, my luck is still holding...I saw nada!!!!

Pretty quiet here, not as many shots as in previous years. Saw the usual early morning movement at the field edges, then nothing the rest of the day. They came out all at once tonight about 10 minutes before dark. I realized as I was headed back to the house I was surrounded by deer on four sides. I guess they're still quite nocturnal?

I live here in logan county and I also thought of it how quiet it was.I drive down 68-80 on my way to and from hunting and always see somebody with something but I did'nt today. Not even any orange in the dash of any trucks.Very unusual for opening weekend!

Good activity on our place in northern Todd County. Lots of deer seen, one of the kids took a nice 8 point and a couple of large does bagged too. A couple of pounds of bacon and a settin' and a half of eggs eaten, several lies told...Good times!

Hunted in the Geneva beach area of Henderson Co & heard only 2 shots yesterday morning. Heard about a dozen yesterday afternoon from the same group of campers. Heard several shots this morning, but it was about a mile away.

I was able to hunt yesterday morning and this morning. I had deer running around my stands but they were mostly does and small bucks both mornings and I'm too tried from the treatments to bother with the does this year so I let them all walk.
From what I could see I doubt the rut has kicked into full gear yet. It will happen anyday now but the temp is suppose to raise up to the lower 70's by mid week and that could mess up our deer sightings since they will do it all at night. Still if I'm able I plan to keep trying.

Saw one spike and one doe this morning...very slow. I did kill a coyote...one shot at 312 yards. That was the highlight of my morning. Plan on getting back out there this afternoon.

Counted 81 shots (just the morning) from a few miles south of Murray City limits. I saw 4 all day and every one of them were running. The dogs were chasing like crazy, but it's okay with me I guess cause they had the deer moving :D. Nutcase was itching to try the new gun/ammo out. I hope the pooches make it through the season .
