Where do you sight your 270...and where is it at

Most of the cartridge manufacturers have ballistics charts for the rounds you plan to use. You need to decide how far you may need to shoot, sight in according to that, and then read the ballistic charts to know where to hold for a different length shot. Or better yet actually shoot those other distances to know how your gun/bullet combo actually performs. If you plan on shooting out to 200 yards you can sight in at 100 yards and find the impact point for a 200 yard shot. If you plan on shooting long range, out to 300 or more yards you may want to sight in at 200 yards. I hope this is not a joke, you should have sighted in and practiced a month ago! Unless of course you are buying the gun today, then you have till about 5pm to get it sighted in for tomorrow.:) As far as where to sight in, out in the field in front of your stand, then you will really know how the gun performs under the conditions you are hunting in. :eek:
