The best thing I have found is that their stuff has a good warranty and as of yet they have never refused to replace what I have sent them. I buy their "paring knives" by the case. @ $1.50 each they can't be beaten. :D

I haven't tried it yet. I normally excuse myself from BBQ duties starting about mid October until I get a buck on the ground (however long that takes) and the wife doesn't even know how to open the lid on the grill. :(
I hope to remedy the deer situation soon. Duck season is fast approaching. I've only still been deer hunting twice past opening weekend of gun season in the last 10 or 12 years. Something big needs to wander by this upcoming weekend. If I have to take a vacation from duck hunting and break out the M/L, things may get ugly.

I have alot of Pampered Chef stuff, I do all the cooking at my house and my aunts had me a big party when I got married. I like everything I have gotten so far. I have the executive cookware, this stuff is bad. I don't think you could stick food to it if you wanted to.

I've never had any interest in getting their stuff. For the kind of prices they charge, you could have Wusthof knives, All-Clad cookware, top of the line Calphalon stuff, etc. Then they don't have very good descriptions for a company who is online and mail-order only. Like, a 12" covered skillet is friggin $200 and all they can say about it is one sentence. Pretty pathetic. They don't even say what their stuff is made out of, much less the thickness, if it's tri-ply, copper-core, what kind of steel their knives are made out of or anything... just that it's damned expensive and you should buy it.
As a cooking nerd, which would you rather buy, based off of description:
1. Pampered Chef, 12" covered skillet, $200:

"A chef's essential! The extra-large surface is ideal when cooking for your family or entertaining. "
2. Calphalon, covered saute pan, $150-$180:

Tri-Ply Stainless
Tri-Ply Stainless combines the beauty of stainless steel with the superior performance of aluminum. Interior and exterior layers of surgical-quality 18/10 stainless steel surround an inner core of highly-conductive, heavy-gauge aluminum. The aluminum core is not only on the bottom of the pan, but continues up the sides of the pan to spread heat evenly and respond to temperature changes quickly. The softly brushed, stainless interior provides clear visual clues when cooking and naturally masks signs of wear. And the mirror-polished exterior provides the brilliant look stainless lovers admire. Our ergonomic Cool V handle design provides superior balance and feel, and vents heat away from long handles, keeping them touchably cool on the stove-top. Domed, tempered glass covers let you monitor cooking at a glance, and they recirculate moisture and nutrients back into food.

The reflective stainless steel surface also makes it easy to judge color changes and doneness. Cool V handles stay comfortably touchable no matter how long you've been cooking, and the glass covers provide at-a-glance monitoring.

I would like to get my hands on this "bastard" Pampered Chef. He would think "Pampered" when I got done with him. He is party central. My wife thinks he hung the moon.:mad: I don't know how much of that stuff we have.

They rely on their home network of sales parties for you to get all of that info.
That and their stuff being the trendy thing for housewives to have...

The stones do work great.
Corndogggy I do agree with you. They are very vague in description, BUT I think that is to keep their catalog smaller ? I too will buy the better stuff you mentioned, however some of the items are much less money than in food specialty stores.
Am I gonna spend $200 on a skillet or sauce pan ? HeJJ no I'm not ! Revereware does just fine for sauce pans. I do have a Calphon skillet but it was a gift. It's the sauce you eat,,, not the pan.
It's like anything, you can find good buys if you pick and choose. You get from point A to point B the same. It is just a matter of riding in a 1962 Falcon or a 2008 BMW 835i. Spend your money on the ingredients and pizz on the pan. :D ;)
trust me

I know we have a Pampered Chef ice cream scoop. It'll last several lifetimes. We have an insulated dessert bowl that is pretty neat. You freeze it, add the dessert, and the frozen bowl keeps it cool. I don't know what these items cost; my wife is an expert at hiding expenses. She should work for the Department of Defense.

I did get a full set of those brushed stainless Calphalon pans. Got a killer deal though, the entire set plus a huge corn cooker with an insert for $350. I mainly did it for the gawk factor... our kitchen doesn't have alot of room, so I was taking a commercial pot rack for a restaurant and hanging it up in the middle of the kitchen to get the pots out of the cabinets, but it's in full view of my wife's home law office where clients visit daily. I just wanted to have something really impressive. I've got about $1,500 worth of stainless and cast iron crap hanging from the ceiling, assuming I had paid full price.

When that stuff get's dusty and you get bored with staring at it, just ring me up and I'll come pay you & take it out of your way. ;) OH and I'll take the rack too. :p :D
