Last night I was doing a little bowhunting in Hardin Co., near the Breckenridge Co line, and I heard a large flock of geese fly over the middle of our farm. I hear them from time to time but never seen them land and don't really know what they are using in the area. There is not a lot of open water in the immediate area, and I was wondering if there is any chance of hunting some of these geese when the season opens. What can I do to try and get waterfowl to use the farm. All we have is a little 1/4 acre pond and I have only seen geese land on it once, and that was this spring. I am really wanting to get into waterfowl hunting, and appreciate any suggestions.

Short of dumping a trailer load of corn out in the middle of a field, there's not a lot you can do this year to try and pull a flock of resident geese somewhere they don't want to be and haven't been using.

You ought to PM bigpuddin, I think he has a farm in Hardin Co and had some pics on here a while back of his duck hole. I know alot of the guys in Hardin Co. hammer those Freeman Lake birds from time to time.

Because you are a Cards fan, your "mojo" is all out of whack. People notice, animals notice and resident geese choosing a field to light in are no exception. It's simple, switch teams and all good things will come your way, including a field full of honkers! :D

We are hoping to build a levee to control some flooding in one of our fields soon. Anyone had any experience building one themselves?
