Due to my schedule, I have only been able to hunt one day in the last two weeks, therefore I haven't seen much action. I am hunting tomorrow and starting saturday have 2 1/2 weeks straight to hunt. Do you think that it is the time to be putting out Tinks and aggressively calling and rattling for bucks or do you think it should wait a few more days or even a week? Thanks.

I spent ALL DAY and I mean ALL DAY in the stand Sunday. I had Code blue standing estrus, I bleated, grunted, and rattled on and off all day. I saw 12 does and ZERO bucks. I have hunted pretty hard from this stand all year and have seen bucks everytime. I think the full moon was a big part of the problem. Next week and after should be the start of the action.

Thanks guys! I'm still going in the morning though, gonna be too nice to pass up a morning in the tree. Just might not use anything, see what happens, and use that stuff next week.

Oh, I'd still go. You sure won't see anything at home in the bed.

I started my rut tactics this weekend. But I also think the bright moon slowed down daytime activity. The sign has realy started to show up so I say go for it. I will rattle all this weekend, also i'm taking fri off because I think the bucks will be chasing hard from about the second on. This is by far my favorite time to be in stand.

it is heating up.alot of bucks are being hit by cars right now.(within last few days. I'd say start slow and turn it on as needed. Good luck

I've spent two days in the stand..Sunday afternoon.. all day Monday and Tuesday morning in North Christian County. Seeing lots of does..fawns & small bucks in groups. I've had these little bucks in sight... grunted ..bleated and had estrus doe lure....no response what so ever. Usually they would rushing to a bleat but not yet. Had plenty of oportunities to "let the air out" of several but just had'nt seen one big enough.

Found a few rubs but with the exception of finding a few dinner plate scrapes around our food plot ... nothing is indicating its going to bust wide open. I had high hopes for this week but just guessing... the rut is going to hit gun season on the money... at least on our place.

You have the right idea here! Go and see what your group of deer are doing and then base your tactics on what they show you. I will be rattling everytime I am in the stand from now till the end of Nov. I can't kill a buck but I still can learn from them and take their picture. Good luck!
