I say the deer is 5 years old... I don't understand the .5 philosophy everyone throws out... it's like when you were 12.5 wanting to be closer to 13. LOL
If my life expectancy was less than 6 years, I would want that .5 too!:D

that deer would be in Gary Wallace's back yard, he lives on Reily Road, and backs up to Fort Hill. If you get the chance to visit Frankfort, pay a visit to Fort Hill. While it does not hold the numbers of deer that Aiken Road does, there are quite a few very nice bucks that can be seen in the neighborhood, along certain areas of Holmes Street, and along Wilkinson Blvd. These deer are off limits to hunting, sorry guys. Leave the hunting gear at home.

There's no way to know a deer is .5.... I just saw 2 spotted fawns yesterday. In 4 years they will be 4, not 4.5...lmao
In 4 years they will be 4.25:D

Leave the hunting gear at home.I will have to agree and disagree with you Mr Meador. These deer are wild deer and are able to leave the park at will,if they travel less than a .5 mile they are in the county. Then they would be legal huntable deer. These deer do come and go from the park and city limits. However if they are in the park it is posted No Hunting,as is city limits.Just wanted to clarify that this deer and all others in the park are free roaming deer.

you are correct, they are free ranging deer, and do get off of fort hill from time to time, but, where that deer stands, is not a huntable peice of property. you dont have to wait for the deer to get into the county to hunt them either, you just have to have permission to hunt, and there is no hunting on fort hill.

I didn't want to say anything, but I saw that SAME buck in the SAME spot last Saturday afternoon.

I can find no rules in the city charter of Frankfort that prohibit hunting within the city limits. I understand that while even bowhunting you have to wear orange, but if you could get permission to sit in that shed, you could kill him where he stands.

What people are refering to is that fawns are born in the spring and are now basically 6 months old or .5 yrs old. Most people guess age this time of year due to hunting season, thus the .5 tacked on the age.

BTW, nice buck!
