Dont know of any in the small towns surrounding sloughs, but I would just get one in Henderson. You're looking at about a 15 minute drive from Henderson to the quota blinds. Just try to get something on the west end, that way you will be closer and wont have to go through the city at 4 in the morning. Just go to yellowpages.com and search for motels in henderson, then pick from your list. A local may be able to tell a specific to get you the closest, but all in all, the drive from Henderson to Sloughs isn't bad at all.

I think the Holiday House motel would be the closest to the refuge. It is on outter green street and at one time had a resturant out front that a lot of the outfitters met up with their clients at. I haven't been there in a while but will be there soon for the Breeders cup and I'll swing that way and check it out for you

The Holiday House is the WORST hotel in Henderson. Has a lot of "guests" who live there permanently. Has the most police runs. You will either get your stuff stolen, mugged or worse. I wouldn't let my dog stay at the Holiday House.
The next closest is the Henderson Downtown Motel. It has a Captain D's in the same parking lot, and a Rite Aid drug store (with beer/liquor) across the street.
Finally, a little farther out on Hwy. 41 in Henderson are multiple hotels, at least 5 or 6 national chains.
If you like gambling and don't mind an extra 25 or 30 min. drive, I'd stay at Casino Aztar in Evansville, right across the Ohio River in Indiana. You might end up doing more partying than duck hunting, though.:D
I'd be happy to answer any other questions.
Chad.

Some members on another site wound up booking a stay at the "Holiday Hilton" a couple of years ago during a get together hunt.
There were some interesting and entertaining stories afterwards, to say the least.

I grew up in Evansville and have worked in Henderson for 12yrs....
In Henderson stick to the known chain hotels on the "strip" (Hwy 41 N). Early in the morning it only adds 2-4 minutes to your trip.
Crossing the bridge into Evansville opens the door to more hotels and really, again, with you moving around early in the morning there wouldn't be much more travel time.
There are some river camps out near the sloughs, but obviously, unless you know some one that has one that may be out.

I stopped at the Holiday once several years ago. I asked if I could see the room before I paid. I never made it inside the room. As I walked up, the door next to my room opened and insided was a big fat dude with hair and a beard down to his waist. He was wearing a pair of underwear and nothing else. In front of him on the table was a 3 ft water bong and behind him stacked against the wall were tire rims. Half of the room was filled with rims. I decided to look elsewhere.
Don't go to the Holiday...they don't "leave the light on for ya"

Yeah! Just scratch the Holiday House unless you're looking for "crack" instead of "quack". I would suggest one of the chains on the Hwy. 41 strip.

my bad on the holiday motel , it was just the closest to the refuge :o
on second thought Casino Aztar across the river in Evansville, In would be alot of fun since you can only hunt until 2:00 p.m.
no matter where you stay, good luck and enjoy the show :D

I've stayed at the Super 8 in Henderson many times, not too bad for 50 bucks a night. Its right on the strip on hwy 41.
Its reasonably clean and has rooms that open to the outside - easy to haul gear inside and they dont seem to mind a dog (although I never really asked, just brought Gunner right in). Coffee in the morning for your thermos and free porn on channel 68.

So they can get away from the wife or girlfriend, stay at Casino Aztar, drink, gamble and then check out some adult entertainment. Maybe duck hunt a little bit, but probably not.

I was one of those "lucky" individuals.
I could tell story after story, but for times sake,I will just say this. There were noises from the adjoining rooms I have never heard before,a used rubber behind the night stand, and bloody handprints on the ceiling.
We slept on top of the covers in our hunting clothes. Truely, truely dispicable. Sleep in your car beforeyou sleep there.
