Anyone know the going rate on dozer work? I have about 15 acres and I am looking into getting someone to build me a road around the fence lines. I have no idea what a dozer is capable of or how much it costs. I don't mind paying for the job, but I dont want to overpay and i especially dont want to pay the guy to sit around in the woods for 5 hours doing nothing and charging me for it.

Anyone know the rate or how long something like this should take?

My next door neighbor has an exavating business. I think he gets 90 an hour and bills off the hour meter not by how long he is there. Hope this helps.... HEATH

Also I think it depends on the size of dozer.

If I remember correctly the guy I know in Rochester charges $65.00 per hour for the 'little' dozer and $90.00 per for the 'big' dozer.
He did a great job on my river road project. If anyone around Warren and Butler counties want his number let me know.

Depends on what size, I dont have dozers but the going rate here for track loaders are 85 per hour for 939 cat(D5 size machine) and 97 per hour for 953 cats.

Rochester has a downtown??? :)
The guy lives in Rochester but did the work for me at my place just outside of Morgantown. Fair price and good work, you can't ask for more than that!

should get a jd 650 size dozer for about 60 bucks. it would depend on the terrain. for just scrub brush and not real ruff should put a rough road in about half a day or so. for bigger trees and alot of clearing with a pretty nice road, about day or two with 750 size dozer at 90-100 per hr.

if you are handy with dozer you might rent one. rental place here gets 300 for 8 meter hrs for 450 size dozer.

I know 3 guys personally that do this business and they live about 45 min. from Ashland if that is where you live. I'm not sure about the exact rate but they are far cheaper than some of these posted on here. More closer to what trader robs posted. If you need names and numbers let me know.

My dad just paid $90 per hour for a 1150 Case dozer to clean out a pond. Lots of guys around here are getting $70 for a 650 Deere. Another guy is getting $85 for a D-6 Cat hightrack. If you are clearing big stuff (trees) bigger is better IMO.
