Looks like someone put it there to me as well. If a car hit it and the deer landed there, it would be one of those "I bet you can't do that again" deals.

It could have jumped the guard rail and centered the fence post. You never know but surely no one was dragging a nasty deer carcas around, just for that. Its not even funny.

Saw a doe once that was wedged between the forks of a tree trunk. Figured she was running/being chased down the hill jumped the logging road and hung up in the tree fork. Mighty slow death.
This one looks to have impaled itself on the fence post?????
