May be a little late to post this story but never the less its a good one.

So me and 3 guys where running down this old creek trying to get to a ol mud whole to shot a couple woodies during early season. Im driving the the boat and have 3 other guys with me. As we are running down the creek we come apon a LIMB line, that i never saw. So the line almost gets my buddy setting in the front of the boat he just barely gets out of the way. But my buddy setting next to me while i run the boat was not so lucky. It slides through his fingers rips off his hat and wraps around his brand new SBE 2 he has holding between his legs and drags it into the creek which is about 15 foot above pool.

Needless to say some of us went swimming even know it did no good at all.
3 weeks later after the pool comes back down to normal level we go GUN hunting. We looked and waded around for hours tryin to find it with no luck.
A week later i go back down to the same place to find the water level down about 2 foot more to see the stock of his gun sticking up the bank out of the water.
Its gets better! this SBE 2 had been in the water and mud for 4 WEEKS.
I pick it up and eject the SHEELS!
I guess thats why we pay $1300 for these things.

The way I take care of mine (bottom of the boat, submersed in water, covered in mud, uncleaned at the house, etc.), I'm glad I have one.

i believe if i was hunting with a fella that blantly was hunting illegal (No Plug)
i would have said officer that fella just tossed his gun in the water to avoid a ticket..

if he did it then he will again and again
i understand you may not even have known the fella but i can assure you he and i wouldnt have been hunting together again..
Now if it was an over sight he could have just tried to explain that to an officer, WHICH i know he would have gotten a ticket but hey if you play you pay...

Figured it would take about 10 seconds for the internet ethics police to grab ahold of that one and shake.

Yeh, I'm sure you woulda just puffed up and directly told the officer that very same thing.

Did I miss something or what? How many shells were in the gun? Did it get edited out? I'm confused but, I, generally, try to stay that way. Somebody please "splain".

The post was deleted by the originator about watching someone he knew sink an unplugged gun to avoid a ticket in September, then fish it out of the water after the warden passed and fire 15 rounds throught it... during wood duck season.

That not only screams illegal gun but over the limit as well... unless the guy was just a horrible shot.
