We have a 333 ac lease and have had problems with people riding fourwheelers on the land. I dont think they are hunting but the roads look like hiways. So we posted the land thouroughly and dropped some trees on the incoming roads. Has anyone had this problem? We did this last weekend and im interested to see if they still rode the land or not. If any of you guys has had this problem what did you do to fix the situation. thanks for all your help?

Dealt with it for years, and tried everything. The ONLY thing that works is to prosecute. You would be amazed how the word gets out when somebody gets prosecuted.
Here is what you do, when you see them take their picture, find out who they are and press charges for trespassing. the sheriff will serve them and you will see them in court, unless the prosecutor allows them a deal without going to court. Either way its expensive for them, and its the only thing that works.
We dropped trees, gave warnings, asked nicely, put up gates etc etc etc.

A 5ft. long 2x6 w/ about 20, or so, 16-penny nails driven up through it....positioned directly across the most well-worn 4-wheeler path. Quite effective on our lease several years back.

That's the only way. If you play nice guy, they will continue to run all over ya. It will take some work on your part, but once you start, they will find other places to tear up and trespass. Hang in there!

There is a situation begging for someone to go to jail...
You CANNOT do that legally... If someone goes zipping across that trail, looses control and gets hurt you are liable. Good way to loose your farm.

Good advice
I also had several signs made, that read. "Tresspassing will result in flat tires". I took some boards with nails and leaned them up against nearby trees. The boards were in plain sight of the signs. It seemed to turn away alot of traffic:rolleyes:
