This is super...
I had to look twice to see what was so special. Looks like water would be a good idea in the west right now.

Can you imagine what some of these "big air" dogs would do on a retrieve in this "pond"? Another reason for not encouraging your hunting dog to get big air.

It would work in south central KY as well. We are dry....

Yeah, my dog would break all 4 of her legs. I've already broken one for her, so she doesn't need any more injuries.:(

Believe it or not, when I was a kid and my Dad had a duck club we had around a foot of snow and all the rice fields were locked up. One of the members of the club shows up with a huge roll of black plastic from were he works in concrete and lays this stuff down in front of the pit about 30yrds long and 20-25yrds wide, takes a little snow and pushes it up around the edgse and puts a couple deks on it and we killed ducks on it. Fast forward to the winter in 1999 and I use the same trick on a horse farm in central Ky. I put it out during the last couple of days of the season when we had all the snow and all my ponds were froze up. I got made fun of until I had killed three days of three man limits of mallards and gadwall. I still have the roll and will use it again this winter if need be. Also if you do it you got to let the first couple land on it it's great!:)

I love it! I read, years ago, about putting clear plastic on ice to simulate open water in an iced up region, but this is terrific! Chris.
P.S. Can't wait till opening day. With all the EHD depressing news about deer, I'm ready to whack and stack some fowl.

I'd like to do some waterfowling, but this is my first year hunting Kentucky and I have no idea where to go. I've got a pretty good Golden that would be happy to pick up for anybody kind enough to take us along.

My grandfather's lab blew both rear knees out this year....one early this spring and the other about 3 weeks ago... 800.00 per side to fix them mostly.
