hunting areas not close to water

i bird hunt and deer hunt logan cty in ky. while bird hunting i often find deer in small secluded patches of woods not much bigger than a pickup truck and no water within a mile .no pond,no creeks just corn and soy bean fields . i usually deer on on the creek but this year i am hunting a five acre patch of woods on the other side of the same farm very secluded in the middle of beans and corn and no water within a mile.just wonder if this is a good idea as dry as it is and has been. any ideas appreciated.

i would think that during any firearm season they would prolly use it as a safe haven, as you have discovered deer can often be at places we least expect...best way to find out is give it a try
