My 9 year old got his first deer which was a heavy fork horn. He missed a doe at 7:45 am due to buck fever. He said he was shaking so bad he was about to drop the gun. I reassured him that the hunt was not over yet and talk him into sticking it out for a couple more hours. At 9:30 the buck walked up out of no where at 25 yards broadside. My son shoulder his gun like an old pro this time, I could tell the old boy was about to meet his doom. The buck reared up then flopped over and was down for the count. Man what a hunt! All my hunting success combined, this topped it all. Seeing him get his first deer and a buck to top it off was just awesome.

congrats to the youngn.. any pics?? got pics but there on my new phone and I dont have the hardware to retrieve them yet. I would have got some with my digital camera but with the excitement and worrying about it spoiling before I got it in the freezer, we forgot to get some. The flies started attacking the deer right after the shot.
