Does anyone have suggestions on WMAs around the cincinnati area... I understand that there will be a drive involved. Even in south west Ohio any Ideas would be nice. I have been to the Curtis Gates Lloyd area and not seen much, has anyone had any luck there. Just trying to get some ideas so I can get in the woods. Reading all these posts is not helping keep me calm... I'm excited and want to be outdoors NOW! Thanks in advance. (More less I'm looking for a leagle place to hunt)

Yankee,
I have heard that Adair next to Big Bone state park is good this year.

I hunted the Lloyd WMA got out there early around 1 pm and did alot of walking around. I did not get down into the creek beds but on either side of the ridges there was quite a few tracks around the edges of some of the fields but other than that i saw no rubs/scraps dropppings or anything else to make me think that there was a healthy population there.
And as far as the adair WMA goes i went down there and at 230pm on a weekday there were already 3-4 vehicles there so i moved on.

In southwest Ohio, Tranquility is a good spot.

If you want info on Adair, let me know. Its where I cut my teeth on bowhunting. Go all the way to the back right corner (south western edge). Follow the gravel road that runs the length of the WMA. Its about a mile hike from the parking area and you go past the old house on the property....nobody, and I mean nobody walks back there....it butts up against a bunch of farmland separated by a wooded funnel following a creek that is the WMA border. Lot of deer back in the creek bottom coming back from the fields in the morning and heading back through the funnel in the late afternoon. Lots of good trees to get a climber with good shooting lanes too. Look at a topo map of on the KYDFW WMA site to see what I mean. Got a nice 10 pt on my wall from there. My first 5 bow harvests came out of Adair. Bring a buddy if you can or have a game cart. The drag out sucks eggs. No pain no gain. Nobody back there to bug you, though. Good luck.
