What's everyone's take on Youth weekend? The tempeture seems to be ready for a good weekend of hunting. Not to cold for the little one's to enjoy a great weekend of hunting. When will the deer be moving the best? Anyone catching any activity on the game camaras? It's hard to keep then in the stand for more than a couple of hours. Will the morning be best or afternooon? Seems as if my little man (9 years old) wants to be out at day break Saturday morning. Hopefully the deer will be coming to the bean field for a little breakfast. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

I remember my first and only youth hunt, the first year they had it was the last year I was eligible. I didn't see a single deer. LOL
I hope that all the young hunters have better luck than I did! :D

Good luck to all the youngsters. Hopefully my little bro gets one this year. I would rather help someone kill their first deer than kill my own.

I dont think a field would be the best spot for a morning hunt. You need to find a transition area. I would best suit you to hunt a field in the afternoon.

My 11 year old daughter will be after a big one weve been watching, but we are only hunting this old brute in the afternoon, she won a gold medal in the blue grass state games so i know she can make the shot, if she doesnt get the fever. Good luck hope all the kids have a safe weekend.:)

My 7 year old daughter is going out in the morning. I haven't seen much on the near by farm but I'm hoping for a miracle. I'm considering putting in a call to the friend with the farm in Waddy (better odds there).

They Grow Up So Fast -- Sigh! (http://blackholecoffeehouse.blogspot.com/2007/10/grow-up-so-fast-sigh.html)
If you click on the link you'll see pics of Mooseboy, my #2 son on each of his previous Youth Seasons.
In just about 2 hours I'm heading to pick up Mooseboy and head down to the farm. Tomorrow will be the start of his last Yute Season. Next year he'll be 16 and hunting on an adult tag. A couple more years and he'll be at college and making excuses to the old man about how he can't make it to Opening Day due to midterms.
Deer hunters grow up so fast, don't they?

Is hunter orange required for bowhunters during the youth firearm weekend? I just want to make sure I don't leave the orange at home if it is required.
