me and my buddy are taking a trip to western ky this year duck hunting, we have been drawn for the sloughs blinds for two days, but we have a week off. I was trying to find other places to go while down there. Does anybody have any tips? We are also willing to pay for private pits or blinds for a couple of days if anybody has any open, or know of anybody that has one? Thanks

If you're hunting the sloughs, you haven't made it to western Ky yet. :D:D:D
Sloughs is just kinda up there by itself

Well thats the only one we got drawn for, thats only two days. We have 6 more days other than those two days and willing to go to The Real Western KY, the sloughs is the stop on the way. We are just trying to get some tips, maybe a place we could pay, week off from work, just duck hunting and having fun.

About the only thing you could do would be stop at the lakes (a boat is a plus) or head to Ballard county.
You can do daily walkins on Boatwright or try to get in on standby at the WMA.
There are some per-day guides around too but I don't know of any phone numbers off the top of my head.

Thanks guys, pm me if you can think of any guides. So how much further is boatwright down from henderson. So there is walk in hunting at boatwright? So we will definitely have a place to spend the morning hunt in case we don't get the wma stand by

Never made that drive but I would say ~3 hours give or take.
Walk in hunting is available on Boatwright every day the place is open if you don't make it in on standby.

So some of the wma's you can't hunt on monday and tuesday? Is that right? If so do you have any ideas for those two days, it would be Dec. 10 and 11, any public holes other places? Not really wanting to take anybody s honey hole just a good hole that could produce some ducks and geese. Wouldn't visit the place much since its would 5 hours away, so no worries of me takin a place over, pm me if anything

There is a guide and maps to public WMAs on the KDFWR website. It tells the days that they may be closed as well.
Just look for the ones in the Purchase region that say they hold waterfowl.

Which blinds did you get drawn for at the Sloughs? It makes a BIG difference. On a lot of them, I wouldn't waste my time.
