Mule that sh-t will happen. Are you looking for a broke dog, or a starter, or maybe even a pup? There's a few boys up here that run llews and I'll have to oment their pretty good dogs. You looking for a male or trouble? I've got a 7 yr. old setter that's a good grouse dog and a dawm go quail dog, but he likes to hunt. If I can be of any help let me know.

Birdman,
I'm probably looking for last years pup. A female. I don't care if she is started, broke, or finished as long as I don't have give my right arm for her. Besides Llewelins are born started.
The last two I have had were just a few more sessions away from being good broke dogs. One was stolen and one was shot. My hound was stolen too. I have the worst luck with dogs of anyone I know.
I'm also looking for a decent shock collar (1/2 mile range or better) if you know of any.
Thanks for offering to help.

Hey MULESKINNER, If Birdman doesn't work out on the collar check out Dressler Dog supply. I got a DT system from them and it's the best deal that I've found. http://www.dresslersdog.com/

Course I'm working with GSP's. They are so smart that they even come and press the button when they screw-up.

There are some guys in Morgan County that run Lew's. They are some good dogs. I'll ask around.

Who's this GSP guy? And what's he talking about some good llews, hell those boys in Morgan Co. won't let a guy run GSP with their dogs.

What's happening GSP? Are your eyes hurting from playing catch up? I found out how you ended up in the big sun state. I heard you traded that for a hunting trip, hell not a bad trade in my mine.haha.

I'm a doing fine Birdman. I guess I was a bending the truth when I said I knew of some good Llews's!!!!!!
I guess I should have said they are as good as any other Llew's!!!

I'm trying to get caught up with the reading and I sure didn't trade any huntin trip to go to Fla!

Mule, rouge I haven't checked today but I haven't had anything from eather of you boys. I've been getting e-mails from other members. Are you useing this site or from your e-mail to mine. One day last week Xtreme thought i was drunk but my computer was f--ked up. I think we have that fixed. Try sending from your e-mail to me. Mule I talked with a guy today that my be able to locate a Llew he'll get back this week. We missed you guys at the meeting today.

Birdman,
I doubt I will be at very many meetings. I work like a dog...ask Rouge.

About the Llewelin. I think the guy I got my last dog from has a sister to her. I am still very interested in other bloodlines though if you can find out about the one you mentioned.
I must warn you though...I HAVE THE WORST LUCK WITH DOGS!
In the past 3 years I have had 5 dogs run off, get stolen or shot.
I have a subscription to Pointing Dog Journal and don't even have a dang dog! I guess that makes me a wannabe now.

Rouge,
whats up with all the emails with blank attachments? None of your attachments have anything there except for the one titled "If ducks could hunt". (hilarious by the way).

I have 4 cases (not boxes...cases) of shells set aside just for opening day. I know I'm gonna need all of em'. I wonder if I can shoot my ruger with my right hand and my mossberg with my left hand at the same time??? Valerie says I should just give the shells to someone who can shoot and get it over with.

Last I heard, they were still having the Mercer shoot again this year.
I remember last year a member on here called "Wall" was having a shoot near here that was cancelled at the last minute. I'm tryin' to find out if he is having one this year and if the public is welcome.
There is also supposed to be a good one in Shelbyville.

I would like to find an area that I won't get shot or has RVs roaming about.
Keep in touch

Grousegunner, you run any trials at the Blue Grass Sportsmans League?

MULESKINNER
08-28-2002, 09:21 PM
Thanks Grousegunner.
I was supposed to make a trip up there after the bucks and beards expo but got too busy. I've heard a lot of good things about them.
I'm hoping not to break the bank though.

And WELCOME to the site.

GSP,
No, I never have done any trialing at all. What type trials do they run, & just what kind of polish does ones dog need to be able to compete on the front end. (backing, retrieving, steady to W&S). thanks for the welcomes....Grousegunner

They run some fun trials down there that I run in sometimes. Actually there is no requirment in these trials. The only requirement is, "have fun". You get 30 minutes and pair ed up with another handler and dog. Hunt'em up and have fun.
Give me a call sometime. I'm up in Lex

Mule I know where some 14 week old puppies are their riman I'm sure I didn't spell that right but I hope you know what I'm talking about. Their $500.00 each, good line of dogs I've seen the old dogs work. I located a two year old broke dog, he's also out of a good line. You may pick him up worth the money. The number on the pups is 606-297-1016 Jim Howard he teaches at our local high school. He can get you in touch with the other dog.

Muleskinner,
one of my hunting compadres just dropped a litter. 5 males, 1 female. the mother is pure llewellin & the dad is about 90% llewellin. I can vouch for both parents as far as hunting goes. I believe he's asking $350.00 a pup. his # is 859-498-9895. just ask for Donnie. hope this helps....Grousegunner.

MULE,
Birdman has not been around much these past few weeks. I'm wondering about him. I'm going to try calling him and finding out what's up. He probably is roosting in a pine tree.

He lives up in Johnson County. It's easy to find his place, go East x South East until the sun don't shine, turn left.

WHERE YOU AT BIRDMAN????
