Hot Browns??? Is it just a west central Ky thing? I'd never heard of them until an episode of "Throwdown with Bobby Flay". It went on about them being a "Kentuicky Speacialty".....I guess its a derby thing though Ive never even heard my friends in Louisville talk about them...

pretty much every food joint in lex, from truck stops to jacket and tie affairs, have one version or another on the menu. I like mine with ham and turkey and thick peppered bacon, no tomato

Alot, if not all, of the state parks have them on their menu. I go there for work purposes but have never tried one yet.

YOU HAVE TO USE THE WHITE SAUCE!!! The cheese sauce turns the whole thing to garbage. It's getting hard to find a place with a good hot brown around Lexington. DeShas and Columbia Steakhouse have good ones.

I would agree 100% on that one Nitrox. ;)

Using that Cheese sauce is like eating BOX Macaroni & Cheese !

Columbia has awesome hot browns. Eat one and you won't need to eat again for three days...

I would also vote for any of the Ramsey's in Lexington.

I think they have the best one for the money.

Best one I have had is from Gibbies (sp?) in Frankfort....Halls on the River serves it to, but its not much good.

Yeah, they served 'em occasionally at my elementary school in Calloway County back in the 70s. I don't know it they are still on the menu or not though.
