On another post, it was mentioned that there is a QDM manual that describes how in the field to judge a yearling to be either a button buck or a doe. Can anyone post a link to this page or post a copy of the page for us? I think it would really help the readers of this forum.
Thanks,
Roger

Roger, I saw the post and looked on the QDMA website. There were lots of good articles, but I did not see the specific material (with photos) referenced. There was a nice article, with photos in the last QDMA publication. This addressed aging and gender of whitetail. I'll see if I can't scan some of the photos as soon as I can.

They sell a poster with the info on it, so I'm sure it's in one of the books also. The poster is $7.50.

I may be wrong, but I believe when you join QDMA, you have the choice of a poster from a couple they produce or a video. I have all of them. One poster is field judging antlered whitetailin field. Another is judging whitetail antlerless in field. And yet another is jawbone aging. The video is a brief intro to some QDMA principles.
I would suggest readin the book "Quality Whitetails". It is the same title as their magazine, but is a cross between a biologist's and a hunters perspective on QDM. It covers the biologic needs, social issues and botanical benefits of habitat and herd management.
