My brother and I have been watching and patterning a group of bucks going into a huge soybean patch. For the last 2 weeks we have seen them do almost the same thing every evening and watched the way they enter the field... One of these bucks is a huge 10 pt with tremendous tines, and possibly 30 " beams, from our estimates he is over 170" and maybe 180"....We are setting up at 2 differrent areas for the first time, that they use just about equally...So, IF EVERYTHING WORKS OUT,one of us might get real lucky..Iam taking my camera to get pics if he happens to out smart us....Wish us luck.................will try to have details later this evening,hopefully......MAYBE THIS BUCKS last day..........

Good luck...I watched a group of buck like that for weeks enter and leave a bean field, could sit in my cousins yard and scope them out everyday.

I went at mid day hung a stand, waited till the wind was right and on that day they vanished. Not sure if just my mid day movement caused them to change patterns but they sure did. Only deer around that stand was small bucks and doe's from then on.

It took me two weeks to locate where those bean field bucks have moved to. They moved near a half mile to the back side of the farm in some thick cover. Rifle season was in shortly afterwards and it took me near a week hunting to cross paths with one of the big boys and put him on the ground

Well.almost happened for my brother...we got to our spots about 6:45 and got set up.My brothers stand is around a curve in the field from my area at about 125 yds.He watched several bucks enter the field at about 30yds from his tree , the big 10 pt was over at about 40 yds in the woods and behind some brush. My brother was not able to take the shot, however as he sat and waited for the buck to follow the others into the field, some idoit pulls up on the road at about 250 yds and starts whistleing as loud as he can at the other bucks in the field...Well ,they decided they had enough and ran right pass my brother taking the big 10 with them....can you believe this s___t !!!! My brother said one of the bucks that passed by him earlier going into the field was a 150"10pt. He passed it ,in hopes of the big 10 pt. moving thru......Well ,theres always another day...

Do you guys have your land posted? Do you think maybe he has been slipping in there and hunting? Did he know you guys were there? Maybe get the CO involved or plant some trees or Egyptian Wheat (I think that's what it is) along the road so you can't see the deer from it.

It may have helped if he was not going to get a close shot anyway. This way he did not have to climb down with the bucks in the field and spook them. I would think you have only got 1 opportunity at that bruiser. Might be a blessing in disguise.

Since it was someone else off in a different direction that scared them off maybe you'll get another chance at the big one---keep after him and good luck

You know that brings up an interesting topic and one we probably need to air out.If you drive by a field or pasture and happen to see a huge buck or bucks in it during season you need to think to yourself maybe someone is fixing to shoot that deer and I might mess them up even if you are just watching or taking pictures. What do you think?Good luck with that monster and keep us posted.
