Had Momma doe and baby doe bed down 35 yards from my stand last Sat. morning. Both were in position to see me move. Needless to say, I got a little stiff trying not to move for the hour or so they laid there. What would be the best possible way to get them to move on? Thought about grunting with out moving, just to have them move, but decided to sit still. They finally moved on, but it was driving me nuts!

Stick an arrow in them and move them to your freezer!!!:D If you don't want to do that then you will need to move your stand because chances are they will bed in that general area pretty frequently. If you don't want to move your stand then make yourself some cover out of some fresh cut greenery and make a homemade blind around your stand.

Stick a arrow in Momma , then while she is expiring , baby will more than likely just stand there so drop it as well , like they said more meat in the freezer , then you also got rid of the bedding down problem !!!:D

I would do what YOU did. I like to leave all the does until January. I like having the does for the bucks to come and check.

Thanks for the advice. As far as sticking them with arrows, honestly, wasn't interested in taking a doe yet, plenty of time for that. Hunting this farm for only the third time, waiting to see as much as possible before I restock the freezer....Thought about blowing something at them, but didn't want to get busted.

I had the same thing happen to me on Sunday evening. Had to yearlings bed 10 yards from my stand for two hours. I was so tense the whole time, wondering what I could do to get them out without scaring anything else I may want to take. I thought about carrying some acorns with me and tossing them down from the tree?? Not sure it would work, but after having repeated acorns peg me I would move!

Believe me there are still going to be plenty of does out there for the bucks. The truth is, when the buck to doe ratio is closer together is when you will see MORE bucks than when the area is overcrowded with does. The only way to get the buck to doe ration closer is to take does off of your property and thus keeping the doe numbers in check. When there are fewer does around the bucks have to move around a lot more searching for the next doe that is ready to breed, therefore the bucks will be moving about in your hunting area more and the hunting action gets better and better. :)

Sorry, but out of 148 pics 2 weeks ago, 97 of them were bucks. They may be basket racks, but that is why I leave the does.

yea smokey bear hit the nail on the head.if you take plenty of does out and get that buck to doe ratio really close thats when you see alot more of bucks fighting and running all over the place looking for does and coming to calls better too.If theres loads of does on your property then the bucks have no need in traveling long distances for does instead they have em right in front of there noes. Now this is good for farms of small acres but for the big farms its going to be hard to get that right buck you want to take

i agree with the others. shoot the does. the less does during the rut the more buck activity.

Dont Move You Done Right. If You Spoke That Doe And She Nails You, That Stand Is Junk She Will Check It Every Time Shes In There. Then She Will Alert All Other Deer Around. You Done Right In My Book. Also Did The Fawn Still Have Spots, If So You Cant Kill Momma Or If You Do, You Just Killed 2 Deer Not 1, Because The Fawn Will More Than Likely Not Make It:(.
