My first bow kill from this morning.http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r187/kyblackmallard/FirstbowkillBigdoe.jpg 6:22 this morning I finally scored.I shot her with a Bear "Truth" 60lb beman 340's and a rage 2" she went about 18 steps.I hit her a little high. She was about eight yards and slightly quartering away. That rage did have an awesome hole although I hit her high enough I think all the bleeding went into her body cavity.I guess at twenty steps I did'nt have to trail her!Now I can go shoot some ducks in the morning and wait for some cooler weather to come back.Looks like I'll have plenty of summer sausage and tenderloins for the duck blind this winter.:D

Good job. Last year was my first year bow hunting. I thought it was so weird to pull the trigger on a release and not hear a loud gun "go off" and yet still harvest a deer. I have fallen in love with the bow and don't miss my rifle AT ALL.

Congrats on your first bow kill! Those 2-blade rages are unbelievable, I've been bowhunting for many years and have never experienced anything like them!

Congrats on your first bowkill, it's an awesome feeling isn't it. Your right about eating deer meat while duck hunting, nothing better except a hot thermos of coffee or my case hot chocolate, never acquired the taste for coffee

I don't drink coffee either. This morning in the blind I had the breakfast of champions! A pack of strawberry pop-tarts and a coke classic right out of the cooler ice cold! There's nothing like smelling fresh gunpowder!I love vacation!:D

Thats awesome! I use the Rage broadheads too. I will never use anything else! They aren't as tough as a Muzzy but they sure do leave a hole! Congrats! Nothing like that first bow kill!

I shot her a little high"only eight yards" and she turned as I released and it exited her farther back and she only went 18 yards. If I had hit her low enough I know the blood would have poured.I learned enough by shooting her what I will need to do if old grandad comes along.
