Early Oct. gun season

Lex. Herald- Leader outdoor writer proposed the idea of having the Oct turkey gun season in early Oct so more folks would turkey hunt instead of having to choose between bowhunting late Oct and gun hunting turkeys. Any thoughts?

Doesn't make any difference to me. I suspect the writer had another reason for suggesting the change, aside from making the choice easier for bowhunters. But I wouldn't object if it gets moved.

Ant time in October should be fine. It was way too hot during this October's turkey season but, what the heck, it could be too hot next week for the December segment also. Probably not. The lack of any leaf cover in December makes it tough if you're trying a spot and sneak. You never usually get close enough to really get a good scatter when they can see you from 1/4 mile. Oh well.
