I had my bow restrung about 7months ago and it's been sitting pretty much as i got it until August when I started shooting it.

I've not been shooting a lot, maybe 150 shots through it since I started practicing for Bow season and I took a break about a week before Dove season and didn't pick it back up till yesterday.

I shot about 30 times yesterday and decided to call it a day. Set it down in my case and as I was reaching for my release, the string came off...My buddy swears I must have banged it on something that forced the string to come off, but I don't think I did. Not to mention, the "ear" that holds the string on the cam is protected by the cam and with the string in the cam guides, I don't see how a slight accidental (if there was one) bump on my case could cause the string to come off.

My question is, is this fairly normal? My buddy says he's never seen it happen before and I am going to be taking it back to the same place to have it restrung, but I'm also going to see if I can get the guy to do it for free...

On a side note, it's aggrivating, I had just got all my sights lined up and when the string came off, so did my peepsight. Any bets as to whether I can get the peepsight back in the exact same spot so my sights are still accurate...
