DBNF has plenty. I've heard good things about Cane Creek but have never hunted there. I liked what I saw at Beaver Creek during the quota hunt last year and plan on hunting it some, but plan on doing some walking there. There are also quite a few on Lake Cumberland WMA but it usually gets hit pretty hard and they move up to private land. There are alot of bean fields in the Fishing Creek area this year that may be worth a try.

Peabody WMA in both Ohio and Muhlenberg counties have plenty of quaility deer. Like most WMA's bow hunting is best because less pressure. During gun season IF you can find a out of the way spot you won't be alone but there will be less hunters. Usually these are trophy hunters looking for large bucks and don't shoot anything that walks by. I hunt these area's lots early and late just not during gun season. If you are in the area and looking for some help in location email me.

From what I've seen Ohio and Muhlenburg are both tough places to bow hunt. There is a lot of new growth at the strip pits and the majority of the deer stay in fields. There are a few places to put a good stand but even during bow season there's a lot of pressure from locals. the best time I've found to hunt there is early muzzle loading season.

Paintsville lake is nice and the size limit on spread is nice. Good quality bucks. Yellow bank is good also. The best places are the ones that allow bow hunting only or just primitive weapons.
