I received my results on the migratory wing survey today. Of the 43 woodcock wings they examined, 21 were adults -- with 9 of those female. A total of 17 females were in the bag. I keep reading that woodcock numbers are on the decline, but according to my numbers -- it's not adding up.

Thanks for the update. I haven't got to woodcock hunt for a few years. Enjoyed it.

I seen more woodcock last year, grouse hunting than I've ever seen. Haven't taken any but seen a lot. What areas are you hunting?

I take most of my woodcock in Northern Kentucky, but hunt Clay (WMA) and Easterern Kentucky (Lewis co), too. The ones we get in Lewis are taken while grouse hunting. Also, I take a few late season birds in Indiana (Crowsley) and Michigan.
