Well i dont think im going this weeked but ill be out there next week. In early season i like to use a fawn bleat if im tryin to bust a doe. Just make sure that your ready when you start callin because they usually come in hot and on a high alert SO BE READY! Good luck to ya!

Maybe a fawn bleat. That might bring in a curious doe.

I wouldn't even bother with any calls except maybe a fawn distress call, but a lot of times that doesn't work very well.

I never go without a grunt tube. If it's a buck you want you won't be calling him in with a fawn bleat! Try soft social grunts. Bucks will respond this time of year! They will also respond to light tickling of the rattling horns. Nothing aggressive!

last year, just a few weeks into the season i watched a couple young bucks sit in a field and spar with each other. which ended up drawing 4 more bucks in. after about 2 hours, all 6 had traded off and slightly challenged each other. 2 of them were nice, but wouldnt come in bow range... however, it was one of the better hunting experiences ive had. so i think, i might take some antlers in with me and rattle a little bit, followed by a few "social" grunts. nothing real aggressive.
