What time will you all be getting to your stands in the morning and afternoons while it is this hot? What time do you usually call it quits in the mornings?

I was planning on being on stand at 5:30, and leaving when The temps get hot, around 10am or so. I will also try to be on stand at 5pm for the afternoon hunt.

I'm getting in the woods an hour and a half before day light. In my neck of the woods the deer are moving early morning, then again any where between noon till two o'clock, then again in the evening.
Of course they are headin' to the water sources... and browsing along the way.

I get in my stand around 45 minutes ahead of any light. Usually in Sept im out of it by 8:30-9am. Don't hunt pm's much, too much hman activity sometimes & it gets maddening.

I'll be in the stand by 5:45 and with luck out by 7:15...kidding, well maybe not. I'll usually hunt until movement stops around 9:45 or so. Luckily, it's a full two minutes back to the house for a nap.
Enjoy fellas and be safe. Thank God it's finally here.

Its suppose to be a little cooler Saturday. Mid 80's I think, so I'll be in the stand by 5:15 and I hope the deer move until 11. Then I think I am going to move and get between them and some water, if my hind parts allow me to sit that long. Then I shall head to the edge of a corn field. Hot or not the idea of sitting all day in the woods sounds great.
Much like kison, I will walk a full 2-3 minutes from the back door to the stand. If lady luck is not on my side, I will walk that long 2-3 minute walk back to the house and partake of some breakfast.
The afternoon will hopefully find me in the dove field. If not, I will go back to the stand between 5:15 and 5:45.

I will be in the stand 1 hour before legal shooting light and sit until it is to hot. I will be back in the stand at around 4. This weekend is looking to be cooler so I think the deer will move early and hopefully stay on their feet alittle longer.

I agree with U Highbow, remember guys if it's not an immediate kill hit the meat will spoil quickly. This 90 degree weather is too hot !!!!

If you prepare before the hunt and don't wait too long to track the animal, there won't be any problems.

I have some pics where the deer have been moving between 12 and 1pm, bucks and does. I just got back from a quick recon scouting mission and saw a big doe at 12:17. I know it is hot and I am concerned about the meat but they have been moving in my area early in the morning, mid-day and the again from 4 until dark and beyond. I can not hunt the area I want until Saturday afternoon but I will be out there as soon as I can stand it.

I guess all the Native Americans just fished this time of year since they didn't have ice and coolers to put their game in:confused::rolleyes:.
I can't get to where I want to hunt in the morning for fear of spooking deer so I guess I will just get out and climb the first tree I get to and say I hunted opening morning again for the 15th year in a row. Then in the evening I will be out there by 4:30 and hopefully be out by dark with venison in hand.

After what I saw yesterday there's really no good time in the PM to get to your stand without bumping something. I've been watching two average 8's walking a treeline at about dark, yesterday they were walking the same treeline at 3:45,then I also saw a doe and 2 fawns feeding just a few miles up the road
