Ran across a ad in the Southern States flyer where they have it on sale, cheaper than regular shelled corn. My question is has anyone tried this in a automatic feeder and if so did the coating melt and hang up the flow in the barrel. I been thinking about giving it a trial but have second thoughts about making a sticky mess in the barrel.

we cook molasses every year and always end up with 20-30 gallons that is'nt suitable for table syrup..(start-up, shut downs from a run)..Ive been mixing this with shelled corn and feeding in a tub type feeder..The deer go nuts over it,along with the coons and bushy tails..its great feed but it is a sticky mess..i would shy away from using it in a spin feeder, even if it feels dry it will draw moisture and clump together

have you ever tried "sweet feed", im not much of a farmer... but i think its for feeding horses. however, the deer love it and it has molasses mixed in it, so they can smell it a mile away. i always poor some out on the ground, but ive never used it in a feeder. i doubt very seriously it would clogg one up though.

I thought it was bad to give sugar of any kind in your feed or minerals as it causes tooth decay which will result in your deer's innability to properly feed, which will actually then lead to weaker, less nutrient sustained populations. Not a biologist, just read it on KDFW.

Can't here, too many bears now in Eastern KY. They already destroy any bait or licks.
