Does the state plan on having the pheasant quota hunt again? I didn't see it on KY's web page. Will it be at the same areas? I didn't go last season, but am thinking of going this year.

I'm trying to find the same. I've been told it is going to happen with a different fomat this year. I sent a letter to the Dept asking when the registration was due. If I hear anything I'll post it. You do the same.
If you get a chance this year GO! The dogs will love it.

Their having it again, but it will be conducted in a more senseable way. I believe that Roy has finally come to the conclusion that lottery's to raise money will not work.

This year, you will make the call and enter your name. You will be charged a $3 process fee. Then if you are drawn, you will be charged for the price of the hunt. Before they tried to charge everybody for the price of the hunt, whether they got drawn or not.

Call in August, as with the deer quota hunts.

Where are there pheasants in KY? I used to love pheasant hunting as a kid!

Last year they had hunts at Green River & Clay Farm.
These are quota style hunts with pen raised birds. A lot of fun.

I got a reply from the Dept today the the Hunting guides and on-line should be out very soon. Last year we applied in Aug, I do believe.

Last yr. I was drawn but couldn't hunt, had a federation meeting. I hope to make it this year. GPS and Grouseguy are you boys going for Sat. or Sun?

We will probably apply for both Saturday and Sunday, and I'm going to try to get Monday off and stay over for the clean up hunt.

According to KY Afield it will be $25 if you are drawn.

I received an E-mail from the Dept today. All it said was that the info on the quota hunt would be in the Hunting Guide (due out sometime in August) and that I would have the whole month of August to put in for it. Their so informative!!!

It's done by phone only.....just like the deer quota hunts.....same as last year except the price change on the bird hunts
