How many hunts solo or most of time go with someone. While hunting solo, after taking a deer,do you dragged it by yourself or go get help.
Usually hunt w/ a friend or dad because that's half the fun to me, but I also hunt solo when dad or a friend can't go. If hunting solo and I drop a deer....I just take my 4 wheeler throw a rope over a limb and pull the deer up and then swing it onto the Honda.

I hunt solo when I have to, but enjoy hanging out with the other guys more often. If I'm solo I expect to have to drag the deer out, but with my buddies... well, hell, they're my buddies! Of course they're going to help me drag it out, even if it is bigger than their best, right Massive?!? :D

Used to hunt solo and dragged my own all the time, no problem.
Now I have a bad back, and I wouldn't dare without a 4 wheeler.

If I am at home Ill drag the deer out of the field or woods with the lawn mower (you might be a redneck if...) or if I am at the farm Ill grab a buddy. but I have a new 4 wheeler this year ,so Ill probably use that. I enjoy looking for downed animals with people. So if i shoot a nice animal Ill still go get someone. I always go to the house to get my dog to help find the deer even if I know where it is. She has helped us find many deer we would have otherwise lost. She knows what shes looking for when we go out.

Depends on if anyone feels like going with me or not. Some fuddy-duds won't get out of the house for nothing.:D
The lawnmower story reminds me of the last good buck I took. Shot him in the field behind the house. Thought I'd drag him to the garage, wrong....way too old for that. I then proceeded to get my truck stuck in the yard for 3 days. Wound up pulling it to the house with the lawnmower:D

You would be a redneck only if it was not a riding mower;):D.

I enjoy hunting with others but lately I mostly hunt solo. Seems like very few of my friends hold the enthusiasm I do for bow hunting.

I wish I had a friend to hunt with, but most of my friends either don't hunt, or they are strictly duck hunters in the fall and winter. I spend 99% of my hunts alone, so dragging a deer out of the woods is all up to me and the 4 wheeler.

During bow season i hunt by myself, but during gun i like it when others tag along. My favorite hunts are when my best friend and i get drawn for LBL or a quota hunt and can go out together. We hunt separtly until one gets a deer then will team up and go back out and sit together. I actually shot one off of his leg last year. It was worth him being there because i could not have dragged that deer out by myself.

I hunt by myself almost all of the time and thats mainly during deer season. I will take some people during deer season but its hard to find someone that has the patience that I do and I am very picky about a lot of things when I
m in the woods. I do enjoy to take a girl who says that they want to go hunting and then I know that they won't last (not saying anything about all females)
I can't wait until my son is old enough to take hunting. He is only 2 right now so it will be a little while.
I use my atv and haven't had to get anyone to help me yet to load one but have gone to get friends to help search . . . especially last year. . . . still have nightmares over that buck. :(

I'm stewing over anything. Just seemed fitting. Wonder if you would have a friend to hunt with if you didnt tell them hunting with a black rifle or huntin for horns was wrong.

I hunt quite a bit alone. I have went to both Colorado and Wyoming on solo Deer/Antelope hunts. Actually it is a good time for reflection and take stock of things.

Like most on here, I hunt with a buddy -- more fun and safer. I'm not above hunting by my lonesome if I have to. The last deer I killed with a bow was when I was by myself. She ran all the way back towards the truck and died about 15 yards away from it. I thanked her and the deer gods profusely.:D

I would say it's 50%-50%, . I usually have someone in the area that I'm hunting but we don't close enough to hurt each others chances.

Usually hunt solo cause nobody wants to hunt my Lil thicket. Because of a bad back, i bought me a used 4 wheeler, a Polaris 600 Twin, True 4 wheeler. Man, that things a hoss! My dad is 84 & still deer hunts, but he and a buddy have a lil farm in the Uniontown bottoms that the farmer only allows them to hunt, so i don't try & butt in.

To all who have to hunt solo, I live in Louisville and would love to meet some new hunters and have new places to hunt. I lost my hunting spot, buddy sold land.
Thanks

This comming season; I'll be hunting by myself. My hunting will be confined to my property, and if I get lucky to bag a Buck my Brother will help me drag it up to the barn.
