Deer will actual come into my feeder as soon as the feeder goes off. The noise is rather loud and it's like a dinner bell. I've seen deer under the feeder jump and sprint out only to return within a few seconds of the feeder stopping. It only took a couple of days for the deer to really get on the feeder for me.

Just remember to be in the woods well before it goes off or you might as well wait for an hour to not spook the deer.

Just like he said, like a dinner bell. I try to set mine to go off about 7.30 a.m. and 7.00 p/m. with light like it is now.
