Tomorrow morning I will be taking someone out hunting the first time. He is not a kid, he is 21 and a good friend of mine. I am just as excited as I have been when introducing kids to the woods. I think that everyone should take someone hunting and fishing every season. If everyone took out just one new person a year, think how many more people we would have enjoying the great outdoors that way us hunters know and love.

Squirrell hunting? Deer scouting? I introduced a 50yr old to the outdoors a few years back. He decided he wanted to try turkey hunting. This guy was from the east, from Philadelphia. He's done well, bagged 6 or 7 turkeys & a few deer!

I have a buddy that wants to get involved but anymore it's hard enough for me to find a decent spot for myself, let alone someone else. I also get nervous about putting a new guy in a tree stand for the first time.

I think new hunters should be introduced to small game first. More chance of success, less peer pressure.

I was 20 and in college before I ever went hunting. I'm still thankful for meeting the classmate who took me squirrel hunting the first time. I've been at it ever since.
