I have made mention of my Grandfather in the past. He was an olympic fencer for Uruguay, a world class pistol shot, fluent in 9 languages and former resident of 21 countries. His wife's grandfathers were the first president of Argentina and the Viceroy of Spain before Argentina had a president.

He met Sasha Siemel in his Jaguar hunting days, and his home is a museum of Guacho and S. American Indian artifacts. He has had many heart attacks and survived numerous assasination attempts. In recent years he walked away from a motorcycle wreck but he rides again.

He just celebrated his 69th wedding anniversary to my saintly grandmother, and I thought some of you might like to see a picture of the man who got me interested in hunting.

He is a living, unsung legend, and a way of life will pass with him, in the not too distant future.

Sounds like you need to start writing a book. Never know...maybe even a movie. Sounds like he has lived several life times in this one.

9 languages, Holy cow! I'm not even very good with one yet.

Mike you should visit him often and every chance you get. My grandfather wasn't as acheived as yours, but he had a wealth of knowledge. I wish I could still sit with him today.

you need to take a tape recorder and record all those great stories for you and your whole family

He definitely has the fire! I did make a number of tapes, several years ago, and someday I may indeed write a book about this man and his family.

I second that. Have him go through his whole life, take good notes while your recording.
