Scope on Shotguns?

I was just wondering how many of you have a scope on your shotguns for turkey hunting. And what are the pro and cons of a scope on a shotgun, and what brand and power to use. By the way I have a 12 ga Mossberg Model 500 camo turkey gun. Thanks

I have a 2.5 Weaver on a cantilever barrel on my 870. Always a trade off. Great for an unalerted bird. Not so great for a quick snap shot if he makes you. The older you get the more the scope makes sense. It also keeps you from raising you head in the heat of "battle".

I hunsted with a Tasco Bantom on a 870SP for years and it's deadly on turkey. I changed to a Simmons 2X fixed power at the end of last year because it has a little more eye clearance. I wear glasses and sometimes get in a contorted position and get bent glasses and a cut eyebrow. Some guns don't pattern where the bead site aims, with a scope you can center your pattern. I would not turkey hunt without one. Goodhunting!

mirage ranger "red dot" atop a h+r topper w/xx choke....i put this on due to that everytime i shot it would shoot low, even after filing down the front site to almost nothing.........shoot great on paper, but not yet field tested..........ez

I shoot the same gun with a 2X Simmons Prodiamond. Like it very much.
