That's been on here in the past...looks like he got a mouthful of porky and then whipped him back and forth, got his shoulders and ribs. I'm glad they didn't take a picture of the tongue...you know it looks like a crowded pincushion.

The dog might look rough, but I don't see any remians of the porcipine anywhere, so I'm going with the dog on this one.

It's amazing the dog didn't lose it's eyes.... But if it would have been on a leash or in a fenced yard, neither the dog or the animal would have gotten hurt in the first place.... Shows a lack of ownership responsibility for letting the family pet get hurt like that. No matter I don't care for the breed anyway, too dangerous of a breed to have around a family.

I've had numerous raccoons and possums get mauled by my dogs while in both a pen and fenced yard. I'm not real sure how they got in there, but regardless, it could have very well been a porcupine if I lived in Cali. One time this huge possum got mauled but it was still alive. I finished it off with my shotgun, but then realized there were about 8 or 9 babies inside the pouch. That was pretty horrible.

Win or lose I bet that dog runs the other way when it crosses paths with one of those walking pin cushions from now on.

The scrubs and the exam table in the background would indicate it was indeed at the vet's when the photo was taken.
Anybody that owns a dog knows you can't keep them out of trouble every second of the day. You can certainly take a dog of any breed for a walk in the woods and let it run and still be a responsible pet owner. Sheesh.
Also, I have seen setters and retrievers come back from Minn with sore faces from porkys, so it isn't just a pit bull problem. My dog encountered one briefly as well, but it was up a tree and posed no problem.

I didnt see the scrubs:o
I dont know sometimes I dont feel too responsible when I take my wifes yorkies for a walk in the woods..They dont fend for therselves too good but think they can kick every other animals butt they come across:rolleyes:. Just last week we let one out to use the bathroom it got out of our yard and into the neighbors yard and into a fight with there weinmerer (sp) It picked her up and thrashed her around like a rag doll. My wife had to pull her out of his mouth it was terrible. She is lucky to be alive she died twice at the vet but he somehow saved her and the litter of pups she carrys. Half her liver is gone and he punctured her diaphram in three places. She has her staples out and is eating and walking I believe she is going to make it. If you had seen her you would swear that vet was a miricle worker for sure........I cant get mad at my neighbor its our fault for not keeping her in the yard........it wont happen again thats for sure.
That may be a Boston bull rather than a pit bull....

Probably not. What little I have learned from those @#$&%& possum pin cushions is when a dog gets smacked with one and it becomes aggressive from the pain (which looks like this one did) they try to get even. I had the experience of pulling around 250 quills out of my dogs face. Some of the quills went through her lip and completely through her gums. Hell'uve bad day.

Thats an English Bull Terrier (think Spuds Mckenzie). Like all Bull & Terrier breeds they are outstanding family dogs when raised properly. The "pit bull" has a horrible reputation because of irrisponsible dog owners, misidentification and media hype. They are also mischevious little devils and love to get into trouble. Bullys are curious, love to play and make friends with anything that moves which sometimes lead them to instances like this.
Heres my Bully, hes a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Donybrooks Big Boss Man. But we just call him Bo.

I'm guessing since none of these sites show a picture of a dead porcupine, we won't ever know who won????
