Not me!!! I went to the spring race and it was terrible trying to get out
of there. It would be alright if you was in a motorhome or camper andstayed there for a while tailgateing or something, but to drive out of there
after a race is murder. It is the best race on the schedule though.:)

Yup, Bristol is a hoot!
But, if you are driving you had better make arraingements to take a day off & camp or something. It can actually be a fun time if you plan it right.
I've had some of my best & worst racing times at that track.

staley, in the past iv parked in a good area and have had no problem gettin out of the night race. This year I plan to camp though!

Anyone have any suggestions on good campsites?
I just wanna park and pitch a tent and not have a 4mile walk?

That was my first time going to a race, you definitely need to know
a little something about whats going on with the parking. If I go back
I'll go with someone who knows more about it than me. I hope you have a good time!!! Who is your fav driver?

Nope I ain't going, I hate the long lines afterwards trying to get out and on the road to go home. I'd rather watch all the sporting events I like here in the air conditioned house I own, with my nice recliner chair and heated back area. The chance to see many replays of certain parts of the events and so on.... It's just not worth my money or my time to go to a live event, when I can watch it at home in comfort........:)

You guys are funny. You will stand/sit with 200,000 people most of which drinking to watch a race but complain about when you try to leave... Those same 200,000 are the ones your trying to leave with after the race. I have gotten out of there in 15 minutes and it has taken me 4 hours. I haven't been in a year or two but we started taking a grill and cooking a big spread after the race. By the time its done and we have eaten then the traffic has died down enough to where its going pretty good. Well until we get to 81 and one of the 200,000 drunks has t-boned an RV or something.

I am not going this year. Too busy with my new baby, but I have been every year for the last 15 years. The first year we went we parked across the road from the track at the dairy farm. We never even started the truck for 4 hours. After that we learned that you have to park on the same side as the track. We have also learned that if you are willing to park a little farther from the track it is easier to get out also. We park in a lot that is 1.5 miles from the track. We get there earily and park right out on 25E. After the race as all the drunks stumble to their cars we speed walk back to ours. We are ussually the first to get to our truck. Then we fire it up and don't hit the brakes until we get to the hotel.

The problem with parking as close as you can to the track is they do not let you leave the lot for an hour after the race so the pedistrian traffic can clear out. Well after all those people walk in front of you then they are in front of you in their cars also. It took us a couple of years to figure it out but now we never get stuck in traffic. HEATH

Best place to camp is right next door at the Red Barn campground (I assume it is still open, haven't been there recently). If you are facing the track from the main road it is to your right.

Cant place what year it was but Earnhardt Sr. spun T. Labonte in turn 3.... that was the only time I've been to Bristol for a night race. That year we parked across the road from the track. I think it was 10 bucks to park but at that time the local schools were getting the money and the also had school busses taking people to and from the track. After the race ...we hopped on a bus ...took us within 20 yds of our car. Cops were everywhere directing traffic and we didnt have any problems getting out. Even when we we were going back through town... they had stop lights being directed. We were back on the interstate in no time heading back towards Knoxville where we were staying.

I would head back to a race at Bristol in a heartbeat. Talledega is a different story.... took us about 6 hours to make it back to Cullman. That was a nightmare.
