Please do the squirrels a big favor, spend as much time as you can squirrel hunting and take as many as you can.

The acorn crops I've seen so far has very little acorns and every one I've cut open had no nut in them. There will be a squirrel die off this winter so it will be better for them to have a quick painless death than a long slow starving death this winter. You will be doing them a favor and bring back memories of our youth when we first started hunting.

Squirrel hunting opened this past Saturday. It was hot but I got my limit before 9:00am.

Until they grow 200" racks you'd be hard pessed to get many to go.
I know what you mean though, the large red oak in our yard has vey few nuts and nothing in them, the white oak has none

Anybody checked inside a hickory nut? I found spots of cutting, but the cuttings were brown, so it was awhile since they been cut.

Maybe Boone & Crocket could start a new measuring scale for the size of their teeth plus the length of their tails.

I took my boy on his first hunt this past sunday evening. Came back with only one but had lots of fun. Brought back some great memories. We did however get over our limit of tics. Kind of hated sending him to kindergarden itching soo bad.....he wants to go back this weekend.

If you can hit one with a bow it automatically makes it in the book. As far as measurements I have no clue , I've never measured one.
