FORT THOMAS - Deer may be beautiful but they are a safety problem, according to Fort Thomas officials.
So the city is considering allowing hunters using bows and arrows and city police using their guns to thin the growing deer population. How many deer should be killed, and where the hunting would occur haven't been determined. Residents will be able to voice their opinions at a public hearing planned for Sept. 24.

These type situations always end up pitting neighbor against neighbor.

I think afew years ago, Fort Thomas as a city, was totally against any kind of hunting. They were one of the first places to prohibit archery in city limits. Most cities already prohibited the discharge of any firearm. Looks like it has come back around to cause them some deer population problems. When will people learn, there is no natural regulators in mother nature anymore, man has to regulate the population to keep them healthy.
