I was thinking of getting me one of those lights that shine on the pins to light them up and i was thinking of getting one for my copper john sight and i was wondering if any one has tried them and if they had any bad or good things about them.
I think they are legil here in kentucky aint they.

Thanks for any responses.

I agree. Too much glare. The only way they might be useable is if you put a cover on the light and put a pin sized hole in it. Most lights are too bright if you don't limit them somewhat. The only way I would think you would need one is shooting out of a blind. Other than that, if there isn't enough light to see your pins, you shouldn't be shooting anyway.

They are legal in Kentucky.

I had one on my old sight where the light shined directly on the pins and you're all right too much glare. But I now have a Trophy Ridge guide series 5 pin sight where the light actually shines on the fiber optics and not the pins so there is no glare and the pins light up just like its day time.

I've got a Trophy Ridge with the same setup.

Works fine.

i have a sword with a light that has a rheostat. three positions so you don't have the glare off of the pins.....

to dull the light on most, you can use a sharpie to color part of the lens, or tape it and cut a small slit in the tape. too much light is a bad thing, the new sword light eliminates all of those problems.

I really dont see the need for a light, todays sights with the fiber-optics are more than enough. So much that it over powers your target when using a peep, and by then more than likely you're past legal shooting time anyway

I have a TRu Glo brite site and it has a "purple" light on it that you twist to turn on. The batteries wore out a couple of weeks ago so I called Tru Glo to get some more. They are on the way:D

I couldnt find L736 batteries anywhere!!!!

I have a Cobra Sidewinder Radiant... the pins glow so bright I don't even need a light, but this sight has one of those UV blacklights on it and there is absolutely no glare at all. Best sight I have ever had.

I have the copper john sight with the light and it works just fine for me when I have to use it. You may have to adjust peeps so just experiemnt a little bit with it. But I think that I'll switch to their new sights next year because they did away with the light accessry and use the wrapped fiber pins now. . . look pretty sweet.. . but not for me this year to close to season to be changing.

I use to have one on another bow and gave it away the little batteries were a pain to install.
I use a Vital bow gear 3-pin sight. I think it cost at the most $35.00 and it is the brightest sight systems I have ever used. It has the neon green pins and in the early hours and late hours you would swear that they glow because it has the fiberoptic wrap and pins. I have no problem taking shots in low visability light with it.

Someone gave me one of those lights (not saying who Whiterubi) and the the top will not stay tight. After a few shots I can here a distincite rattle from the switch. Is this common on those lights or waas this a defective one that someone saw a good opportunity to rid themselves of?:D

Could be operator error, I suppose. Maybe too much pork chop grease on you fingers and you didn't get it tight enough :D

I am switching back to the old light. This one is not making the team. That is unless Meador can shed some light on the subject. (Pun intended:D)

i hand tightened mine after is rattle loose, and it has stayed put. maybe you need to tighten it a little more?:D as for the pork chop grease, yeah, it makes things pretty slippery....you didnt lube your threads did you?

Not really a fair statement to make. My old Cobra sight had hirrible fiber optics. I couldn't see any pins at an hour before dark.
It's already been mentioned, but they are of great benefit when hunting from a blind.

I have had them and don't like them. My experience is you can see the pins but you can't see past the pins to see the deer. I think you would need a mag light strapped to your stabilizer shining on the target and I'm not sure that's legal.

I just switched to the sword accu sight and absolutely love it. But do all the lights have 3 positions? Mine only goes from off to super brite. Just wondering if mine doesnt work right or if they're notr all the same.
