Sadly, no. Two big regrets of mine are not catching either him or John Lee Hooker in concert.

Saw an interview of some of the blues greats on tv a few years ago, B.B., Robert Cray, etc. etc. They all spoke of SRV in hushed, awed tones. He had a lot of respect.

SRV was an incredible player.

You ever hear of this guy ? www.jimmythackery.com (http://www.jimmythackery.com) ? SRV used to open for him. He plays Hendrix better than Hendrix. :D

Auk you ever see Jimi Hendrix or Pink Floyd ?

I have seen both BB King & Robert Cray. Both great shows.

Eric Clapton was also scheduled to be on the chopper that crashed and took SRV. They had both played the event but EC decided to stay at the venue a little longer.

It is called "Sessions". It was commissioned by the Canadian Govt back in the 70's. It is one of the best live CD's that I have ever heard. Incredible music to cook BBQ by ! :p :D

I could sit on the porch on a warm fall night with some cold beer and some BBQ listening to Stevie all night long. Good stuff. :D

I hope to be as good as SRV someday but in the meantime, I enjoy playing a blues riff or just hitting a good E7, A7, B7.
