last year i purchased a new stabalizer for my bow when i put it on i put lock-tight just like on everything else so it won't back out and there will be no noise , so yesterday i was shooting and after about 25 shots i started getting this noise that sounded like a ricochet from one of these old westerns i could not for the life of me figure out were it was comming from. so i kept shooting, and after id say the 50th shot my stabalizer fell off with the threaded shank still in my riser.. anyone got any ideas on how to get it out??? or how this happened? when i looked for the noise i checked the stabalizer and it was tight

yea definetly dont lock tite any screws, they shouldnt back out, i work at archery shop and we never lock tite anything. That is bow mechanics worst nightmare. If for whatever reason you have screws backing out I would check the screws, as silly as it sounds sometimes it depends on screws. You should be able to have someone drill it out, we take ours to gun smith who can drill them out.

They make a thing to get bolts out and evem make something for screws. i cant think what they are called right now, im sure that someone around here knows what im talking about. i think the one for bolts is called an EZ out. you just drill in the middle of the bolt not as wide as the bold just a small hole and use the EZ out in a drill running counter clock wise, and it will take it right out.
the one for screws is about the same was but i dont think you have to drill it out first.

thread two nuts onto the bolt, tighten them against each other, then back the bolt out with a wrench. you may have to hold the insert with vise grips...caution: if the insert in the riser starts to turn, stop.....you may be able to put some penetrating oil onto the threads and let it soak, it way break down the locktite.....
i would not recommend putting locktite on any bow components. if the stabilzer vibrates loose, use a quick disconnect instead of installing the stabilizer directly into the riser.

You can compromise loc-tite with heat. Carefully heat the area, the loc-tite will let off a puff of blue smoke, at that point you should be able to remove the bolt. That said, I don't know if you can heat that area of your bow without doing other damage.

i would not use a torch to heat the riser, i may start with a hair dryer and maybe a heat gun on low....i am not sure about the temper of aluminum, maybe someone that knows about 6061 can inform us better.

If you can not get it out an easy way you can use what they call an EZ out tool. Basically what you do is drill a small whole in the end of the broken off screw, then take the ez out and it has some edges on it to grab into that hole, you turn counter clockwise and it will unscrew the broken screw/bolt. EZ outs come in different sizes and you can get a set of them at a hardware store. That is the tool made specifically for that problem.
