I went and bought the Rapture yesterday at Uncle Lee's. I haven't bow hunted since the early 1990's and in the last few months have had the URGE to start bow hunting again. :) After talking to a few friends about bows and consulting with the young man at Uncle Lee's I decided on the Rapture. So here is my setup:
2007 Rapture
29" draw 60lb pull
Easton Axis arrows 400
Tru Glo 3 pin sight
Whisker Biscuit
4 arrow Quiver
Does anyone have anything to offer on my setup? Pro Cons Helpful hints on sight it in anything to watch out for
This should be enough to take down a deer at 30 yards or less???
Thanks for all of your help Sept1 Sept 1 Sept1 CAN'T WAIT!!:D
P.S. The young man at Uncle Lee's was wonderful!!!

Congrats on your purchase.
Here's one suggestion that addresses the pins on your sight. I don't know what Tru Glo stocks on this sight, but if they're .29" pins, you might consider changing them out to the smaller .19" pins. The pros are that you get get much better accuracy (especially on longer shots) with a .19" pin. The cons are that they're simply harder to see in low light conditions.
If you can mount a light on the sight, I'd go ahead and spend the $15/20 to do that. This will allow you to shoot all the way through legal hunting hours. One note of caution though, the light illuminate the filaments leading to the pin. If you can see the light from the front of the bow, so can a deer, so use camo duct tape and tape around the sight housing to trap the light. This will insure that you're little sight light isn't visible to that big buck that's getting ready that came in right at the close of shooting time.
Also, I'd go ahead and buy an EZ hanger to hang your bow from the tree while in the stand. The smaller models are easier (at least for me) to get in a tree and allow you to sit comfortably in the stand without having to hold your bow. They also only cost about $12 (and I'd also either buy a hole starter if you can find one to install the thing). I've found that there's nothing more annoying in the early season than having one hand tied up with my bow, while I'm trying to whack mosquitoes with the other.
Good luck!:D

Congratulaions on your purchase Kybadcat36. I am also getting back into bow hunting this season, after laying off for quite awhile and I bought the Bowtech TomKat. You didn't say but the shop I bought mind they paper tunned it and zero it in at 20 yds. I had to make just few adjustments. This really help out without me trying to zero the bow from scracth.

Hey! I went out and measured off 20 yards and bam! Shot just left of the BULLSEYE about 4 inches. Made a small adjustment and bam!! Perfect. My new Rapture was on. Boy do I mean on. Sure I could have paid a LOT more $$$$$ for a new bow but I wouldn't be any happier. :D:D:D CAN"T WAIT FOR SEPT 1st!!!!!!!
