As many know the Dingle Johnson, and Pittman Robertson acts fund much of the wma's and wildlife agency projects. these are added taxes on hunting and fishing equipment that go into a special fund that are divided out to the states to help fund parks, wmas, and other projects. my question is this. a few years ago they were trying to get passed that this tax be added to things such as binoculars, photography equipment, hiking gear, etc. does anyone know if this is getting anywhere or is it already shot down. The reason i ask is because people hiking our wma's and national parks are using the areas that essentially the hunters and fishermen bought and would like to see them donate a little money for the upkeep on these areas! I thought this was an excellent idea. people complain about non game species not getting any funding but the people that are out there birdwatching and photographing them that are raising the concerns are not donating the money that the hunters and fishermen are. Just wondering where congress was standing on this one. and yalls opinions on it as well.
