well with gun season coming fast, im wondering how you all stay dry and warm... I can stay dry by not wearing alot of layers, but if i dont wear it i cant pack it in cause i already have enough stuff. now if i wear all my layers i stay warm but not dry for the walk which in return i get cold while sitting on the site.
normal layers consist of
skin
plain white t shirt
camo hunting pants and long sleeve shirt,
knee high socks + smaller pair of socks
then a bib set and jacket which is insanely warm.
what else can i wear or exchange out for what im currently wearing, except for the bib set which is brand new.
anyone use underarmour or anything else that keeps them dry??

I wear underarmor which keeps me warm and waterproof jacket over it and water proof pants to keep me dry. Other than that hunt in september when it isn't raining:D

I saw an ad in the new Whitetails Unlimited Magazine for an item that looks like a camo cocoon for hunters. It actually appears to be an oversized pair of coveralls with no arms. There are booties on it so you are covered in a waterproof shell (looks like neoprene) from toes to head. Interesting concept for someone who doesn't care what his hunting buddies say.

Dump that plain white T-shirt like a bad habit! Get yourself a nice set of polypropylene undershirts and bottom (Underarmor is just one brand) Get a couple sets as they will be stinky when you're done. For the feet get a very thin poly pro liner to go under your socks. In both cases they will move moisture away from your body which is why you're freezing.
The final component is a good fanny pack with a suspender configuration and a couple straps. As you walk in or stalk during the day strip layers and strap to the pack as you get on a stand start adding layers. It's all about managing that core temp to start warm and dry. I also carry a couple different gloves and hats depending on the conditions and how long I intend to be out.
Sweaty while walking means freezing while sitting so work hard to stay dry next to the skin using the poly pro stuff

If that white t-shirt is cotton that can be the basis of your problem. Get rid of anything cotton (this includes socks!!). Check the tag in your camo clothing much of it is cotton and it is useless when wet or damp. When the weather is cold, such as the Gun Deer seasons I always carry much of my clothing to the stand then put it on in layers. The sweat from the walk to the stand will dampen your clothes and combined with the cold air or breeze can really make a for a long cold day in the stand.

agree...and if your socks are cotton...ditch them for wool or a poly blend.

+ 1 on dumping the cotton t-shirt. Get some nice Silk, Poly, or Under Armour type garment next to your skin. Then pick you up a pair of $9.99 Bass Pro smart wool socks, they will not itch your feet.
