I am in the same boat as you. I have been looking at the sword accusite 3rd plane as well as a few sights made by extreme. I like the size of the extreme sight but I have heard concerns about the durability of the sight ring. The sword sight is built extremely well but my concern about this sight is weight. If anyone else has any suggestions I would also like to know.

Here is a list of sights to look at i install the most of these brands

Med Range (under $100)

Extreme, they are holding up to the abuse, but the sight window is small
Tru Glo, the all metal series is good and bright, but the clear plastic pieces can break

I just picked up the HHA brushfire line for another line in this catagory

Top Shelf

Viper are excellent but they keep going up in price
(me current sight is a black viper microtune with .010 pins)
Fuse makes some good sights but the pins are way too big for me
HHA their optilight XL series is the fastest mover in the shop so far all i can tell is that they are built like a tank

if you need info on certain brand or sight, let me know

I have an Extreme. I can't remember which model, but it has 4 pins and the fibers run in a clear tube all the way down the sight bracket, making the pins VERY bright!

I have the 900 model extreme...LOVE IT. It only has four pins but the 1000 has five and adds the dovetail(if you like that). I'm going to CO. in Sept. and need a 60 yd pin so my dealer is going to order me the fifth pin. Says its easy to install the fibers.

i would give sword, extreme, and spott hogg serious consideration. sword has the toughest fiber i have ever used, and they will build a custom sight for you if what they are putting out doesnt match up to what you need....and, they are a great value....the new rheostat/three position system on the light (comes with the sight) is far better than any sight light i have seen.

another vote for extreme sights, ive got the RT900, fibers run the full length of the sight in a clear tube so they won't break, its very bright and durable. And it'll only cost you about 70-80$.

Sword Twilight Hunter

The camo version with a 5th pin added was under $100 shipped to my door. I THOUGHT I had a problem with the rheostat light and without asking, they sent a new one to my door free of charge. AWESOME sight, AWESOME customer service, and AWESOME price.

I'll give another vote for the extreme rt900...I love mine...the other choice was a fuse sight but I liked the extreme price better and am plenty happy with it!

Hey dude, I'm Mike from Corbin, met you once (switchback). You should really try the sword twilight hunter in camo, very tough fiber, very bright, you can have them add the 5th pin at no extra charge, shipped to your door under $100.00. Great people to do business with. go to swordaccusite.com and get the number, give the guys over in jackson county ky a call. they make great sights and stand behind them totally... Mike

Sword make great sights, I went up and took a little hands on look at their assembly line the other day. Let me tell you everything that comes out of there is of high quality, they are local to me (bout 5 miles from my house) and make a quality product. They are also very knowledgeable about their product. I have bowhunted for about 5 years, (21 years old) and had never went up and looked at their operation. I can assure you if I had not just purchased a sight I would have one on my new X-force.

I have a sword sight and love it. You can get different diameter pins, with light or without light. Mine has six pins just can't remember the name of it. As for the weight problem you can get them with a long arm or short arm. GREAT SIGHT:)

I have a 4 pin extreme that is BRIGHT. I also have a truglow light on it...even BRIGHTER. Its light weight, the window is plenty large. and the pins are stainless steel. I am very happy.

I also have sword sights and like them very much. The only complaint I have about my sight is the light location, It shines directly over the pins and causes a light halo taking away from the pins.I have been looking at the viper micro tune latley they look like good quality sights as well.

you can re-locate it to the bottom of the bracket.....i use electical tape to dull my light;) its not as high speed as duct tape, but it works.:D

the sword sight is a very tough well made piece of equipment. the fibers are bright and tough. the twilight hunter is a fine a hunting sight as there is out there. the options that you can get them to put on your sight is second to none. a very good set up on their pins is a .019 on top and .10 pins on the rest of them.

I just swapped my .029 top pin for a .019 top pin. Sword is a great company. I wish more people operated like they do.

I sell as many Sword sights as all the rest combined. The new Extremes are doing well and the Fuse sell well to the Hoyt guys.
